Mulund Bunts Mahila Vibhag Celebrates Haldikumkum with Grandeur
Mumbai: Mulund Bunts Mahila Vibhag celebrated its much-awaited Haldikumkum programme on 8th September 2026 at Maharashtra Seva Sangh, Mulund West, with great enthusiasm, devotion and traditional fervour. The event received an overwhelming response, with around 400 members, guests and well-wishers participating in the celebration.
The programme was held under the guidance of Mulund Bunts President Shri Krishnaprasad Shetty and Mahila Vibhag Chairperson Smt. Shashiprabha K. Shetty, along with the Mahila Vibhag office bearers and members. Trustees, office bearers of Mulund Bunts, former Mahila Vibhag chairpersons and several distinguished guests graced the occasion.
A major highlight of the programme was the Mata Ki Chowki, which created a vibrant and devotional atmosphere. This was followed by the traditional Haldikumkum ceremony, bringing women together in a beautiful celebration of culture, tradition and togetherness.
On the occasion, Smt. Roopa Prakash Shetty and former Mahila Vibhag Chairperson Smt. Arati Yogesh Shetty were felicitated in recognition of their achievements and contributions.
Su-PreMa Fund – A Ray of Hope for Cancer Patients
The programme also highlighted the humanitarian initiatives undertaken by Mulund Bunts Mahila Vibhag, particularly the Su-PreMa Fund, which extends financial assistance to cancer patients in need.
The fund was initiated during 2015–17 under the chairpersonship of Late Smt. Mamata Manohar Shetty, who herself was a cancer survivor and strongly believed in supporting families affected by the disease. The name Su-PreMa carries the memories of Late Smt. Sujatha K. Shetty (Su), Late Smt. Premalatha H. Shetty (Pre) and Late Smt. Maina J. Shetty (Ma).
